Gallery 5: The Packard Project

The Green Packard Cab

Dayton, Ohio 1998

"The Green Packard Cab" was the first in a series that became The Packard Project. After completing this photograph, I noted how similar it was to many other photos that I had done, and after talking with the staff at America's Packard Museum this became a continuing project. America's Packard Museum is on South Ludlow Street in downtown Dayton, Ohio. They have an incredible collection of automobiles which are displayed in an original period showroom, the Citizens Motor Car Company. The Museum is open afternoons daily. The fee is nominal, and the hosts are both cordial and well informed The photos here are displayed with a word of thanks. At this time, the original prints are still on display in a small gallery within the museum.

* Footnote to some photos here. Putting electronic images on a website always has some uncertainty about it. In general, none of my images are composed for WEB display, and in fact many are not compatible with WEB display. Some marked here with a (*), I'll re-scan, and either update or eliminate.
